About Sopapillas

Sopapillas’ owner, Steve Dale, came from Phoenix and Albuquerque to pursue his love and passion for music in the late 90’s. As a Nashville bass player, Dale was nominated for three Grammys and two Dove awards and was constantly touring. He later became the bass player for the Country group “Little Big Town” for five years and had the opportunity to play for John Mellencamp, Lindsay Buckingham, and Kenny Loggins. Even though Music City was kind to Dale, he really missed the traditional foods and flavors that he loved out west. He longed for something that tasted like home, but he couldn’t find it. So he began to cook many of his favorite dishes and often tried them out on his bandmates. While Dale and Little Big Town were on tour with artists such as Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Sugarland, and Martina McBride, they would throw special post-show fiesta nights where Dale would cook his southwestern delights. These fiesta nights became increasingly popular and his yearning to open a New Mexican restaurant was soon becoming a reality. Our daughter just graduated from MTSU and we had our graduation celebration at Sopapilla's, in the private event room. We rented out the private dining room and had about 40 people. I am from Az. We eat cheese crisps there. This is the only place in the south I've found that has them. Very good. The sopapillas w carnitas meat are excellent. Queso is very good. At the end they bring sopapillas w honey that are fantastic. Best Mexican place in the south!!

Best margaritas in Hendersonville. I LOVE the ceviche and the carnitas. I love the patio. The salsa is delicious. The service is great. One of the only places I'll go out to eat at in this city.

We had a most enjoyable and lovely time at this great restaurant! The food was excellent!! The service was GREAT! I would highly recommend this place (and I have) to anyone wanting great food, wonderful ambiance and superb service. A wonderful addition to the Hendersonville area.
